25 bags of Japanese tea Ujinotsuyu Genmaicha 50g (Japanese green tea with roasted rice)
Brand NEW, unopened.
Begin with good tasting water. We use water that is between 180 and 190 F. Some sources recommend using water at a boiling temperature. While this is unusually high for a green tea, supposedly the hot water is necessary to bring out the toasty flavor of the rice. Other sources recommend using water just below boiling, as you would with other green teas. We decided to try both and discovered it is really dependant on your personal tastes. The rice flavor was much stronger at a higher temperature, so if you prefer a more subtle taste, we recommend the lower steeping temperature.
Ordered items are carefully packaged to ensure the best protection during transport. Item will be send within the same business day once payment received. Please make sure your shipping address is correct.

Genmaicha (çç±³è¶, “brown rice tea”) is the Japanese name for green tea combined with roasted brown rice. It is sometimes referred to colloquially as “popcorn tea” because a few grains of the rice pop during the roasting process and resemble popcorn. This type of tea was originally drunk by poor Japanese, as the rice served as a filler and reduced the price of the tea; which is why it is also known as the “people’s tea.” It was also used by those persons fasting for religious purposes or who found themselves to be between meals for long periods of time. Today it is consumed by all segments of society.
